we know, wellness spaces can be intimidating —

The nurture collective (tnc) was founded in Detroit, Michigan, in February 2022 with the intention to create a new kind of wellness experience — one that centers both community and accessibility.

Our offerings focus on restorative practices that invite you to slow down and come home to your body in meaningful, sustainable ways. Our classes are designed to feel warm, welcoming, playful, and supportive for all levels — no prior experience needed.

We offer a regular schedule that features meditation, movement, and breathwork, alongside a rotating calendar of workshops and gatherings that explore creativity, connection, and care.

At the heart of our space is the belief that well-being should be accessible to all — all bodies, all identities, all budgets. That’s why all our weekly classes are, and always will be, pay-what-you-can.

As stewards of ancient healing practices, we move with humility and respect, honoring the origins of these traditions and the communities that have carried them forward.

MEET HEAVEN

Hi, I'm Heaven.

I'm a yoga teacher, creative, and the founder of The Nurture Collective. I believe our bodies aren't problems to solve. They're relationships to tend.

For more than a decade, yoga has been one of the ways I've learned to listen more closely to myself. It has taught me that healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about returning to the parts of ourselves that have always deserved our attention, care, and compassion.

The Nurture Collective was born from that belief.

I grew up in Detroit, where much of my childhood was shaped by foster care, addiction, mental illness, and responsibilities that no child should have to carry. As the oldest of five siblings, I learned early how to care for everyone else before caring for myself. Like many people, I became familiar with perfectionism, people-pleasing, overachievement, and the quiet exhaustion that comes from living in survival mode.

My teaching is warm, intuitive, and down-to-earth. I value depth without rigidity, structure without pressure, and growth without shame. I don't believe wellness should feel exclusive or performative. I believe it should feel practical, accessible, and deeply human.

More than anything, I hope you leave our time together feeling a little more connected to your body, a little more trusting of yourself, and a little less alone.

If you're ready to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build a practice that supports your everyday life, I'd be honored to practice alongside you.

Yoga didn't erase those experiences. It gave me a way to meet them differently.

Over time, my practice became more than movement. It became a way of understanding my nervous system, building trust with myself, and creating space for grief, joy, curiosity, and rest to exist together. It reminded me that healing isn't found in perfection or performance, but in the small moments when we choose to stay present with ourselves.

Today, I weave together yoga, mindfulness, nervous system awareness, ritual, and creative practice to help others cultivate that same relationship with themselves. Whether we're practicing one-on-one, gathering in a workshop, or sharing space in community, my intention is always the same: to create an environment where you can breathe a little deeper, move a little more freely, and reconnect with what feels true.
