sama writti pranayama (equal breathing) is a transformative practice focusing on balancing and calming the mind through controlled breathing. this session guides you through rhythmic breathing exercises aimed at harmonizing your breath pattern, promoting relaxation, and enhancing mental clarity.
during this class, you will learn and practice sama vritti, where each inhale and exhale are of equal length, fostering a deep sense of equilibrium and inner peace. through this intentional breathwork, you’ll unlock the potential to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a tranquil state of mind.
for lovers of: the gentle rise and fall of ocean waves, the rhythmic beating of a drum, and the quiet hum of a peaceful morning.
please note: this class includes an active breathwork practice. active breathwork should not be practiced by individuals who are currently pregnant or have a history of severe asthma, epilepsy, high blood pressure, or heart and lung complications.

some things to know
〰️ bring a yoga mat or cushion & all levels welcome
〰️ doors open 10 minutes before class starts; we cannot accommodate late arrivals, so please arrive a few minutes early to get settled in.
〰️wear anything you feel comfortable in!
〰️all parking is street parking! there's typically spots on the block surrounding, but give yourself enough time to do a lap or two, just in case.
〰️if you need to cancel, feel free to do so -- as long as it's 6 hours before class start time, a credit will be issued back to you.
